Nurses' Float Stories
The Nurses' Float project is bringing so many people together and creating those special and unique stories of connection during a shared experience. Share your unique story with us.
Captain Maureen Pennington met Petty Officer 2nd Class Aaron Lilliott at a hospital in Afghanistan.
Maureen, who made the beautiful quilt that helped us raise money with an “opportunity drawing” is a member of the San Diego Chapter of Association of periOperative Nurses and Aaron's aunt, Nancy Lilliott a retired CRNFA, is a member of the same Chapter. It is a small world.
Raising Funds for the Float
Marjorie Ferguson, RN, CNS, FNP ANCC certified, is a Mental Health Practitioner at a Community Outpatient Clinic. She wanted to support the Nurses Float by raising some money. Her chosen way was to ask people at her workplace to purchase tickets for the Quilt Raffle. She got several nurse colleagues, 4 doctors and the security that works on the campus where the clinic is. Devaughn is the first security guard to purchase a ticket for the Quilt Raffle. Marjorie's efforts raised over $400.00. Here are some pictures of Marjorie, the Security Guard, and Rosemarie, another nurse colleague. This is an example of the many sweet stories of how nurses are coming together to support the Nurses' Float project. Thank you so much!
