Flowers 4 the Float

The Nurses Float
Celebrate and Honor All Nurses
at the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade

How To Participate

There are so many ways to get involved with this historic project. We have listed just a few.

  • Get Excited and Get Ready To Celebrate. The opportunity for nurses to have this level of fun and recognition may not come around again for a very long time so take advantage and spread the word and GET EXCITED.
  • Recognize and thank a nurse colleague. Have you ever wanted to tell a nurse colleague how special and unique they are? Donate in the name of that nurse and we will post their name on our special Nurses Honored page. There isn't a higher compliment than one that comes from a colleague.
  • Patient-Nurse relationships are very special and unique. If you have been a patient you can finally recognize those special nurse(s) that support your return to health
  • Quilt Raffle. A beautiful queen size quilt made by Captain Maureen Pennington, RN who is currently serving in Afghanistan, will be auctioned off December 2011. Get your tickets today!
  • Send an eBouquet or Printable Greeting Card. Surprise that special nurse with a eBouquet or Printable Greeting Card.
  • We need donations to design, build and decorate the float. There are 2.9 million nurses just in the US and if every nurse gave $1.00 we would have the resources to build a beautiful celebratory float and have funds left over for scholarships. Use our online process in our online store, or you can mail your donation.
  • Healthcare institutions who employ nurses to care for and help patients heal. It has often been said that “nurses are the backbone of healthcare.” Honor all the nurses that work in your institution by making a donation in their name.
  • Organize Fund raisers where you live. Hold a silent auction, pass the hat at your association meetings, put a change jar where people can empty pocket change, hold a bake sale and so much more. For designated nurse celebration day/weeks ask your institution to donate one dollar in the name of each nurse. Check out our Nurse Week, AORN Chapter and AACN Chapter donors.
  • Become An Official NF Volunteer. We have put together a Volunteer Kit that will support your getting the word out. Check this out and if you need more information just let us know.
  • Healthcare companies employ nurses to promote and educate other nurses, physicians, and patients about their products. What a wonderful opportunity for you to say THANK YOU in a big way.
  • Say Thank you to yourself. Let us know how proud you are and the daily commitment you make to your patients and profession.
  • Send a Gift From Our Online Store. From affirmation cards to artwork donated by Nurse Kathy Leland there is a choice for year round gifts to say Thank You or I'm thinking of you.
