Pasadena is located northeast of Los Angeles. The closest airport is the Bob Hope Airport (BUR) AKA Burbank Airport

Hotel Reservations

We encourage you to get your reservations as soon as possible. The closer to Pasadena and its surrounding areas the prices will be higher and a 3-4 night minimum might be required. The pay off is you are near the action. We can’t recommend any hotel but suggest a Google search for hotels in the area. Many people are using AAA and travel agents to get the best prices. At this time we do not have any housing volunteers. If anyone is interested in providing a couch, floor or spare room and you are willing to have us post your email, contact us at rose@flowers4thefloat. You can also visit for more local information. Here is another link that will offer you hotel information in the Pasadena area:

Housing Volunteers

We have had several requests for information about people that might be willing to open up their homes for out-of-towners. This is something we do not have the resources to manage but we are willing to post an email of someone who states they would be willing to give someone a place to stay. Bare Root Inc. does not endorse or verify or vouch for anyone who volunteers their home; we will simply provide contact information. Each person contacting someone who has volunteered their home does so solely at their own risk and Bare Root is not responsible for that experience. If you are someone who would like to have your email posted as a potential housing volunteer, email us and we will post on our web site.

  • Joanne Fierro:  I live in South Orange County, about 1 hour from Pasadena, easy freeway access. I have 2 bedrooms available to anyone who would like to stay.

History of the Tournament of Roses

To learn more about the Tournament of Roses visit their web site at    The history is worth reading. The headquarters for the Tournament of Roses is the Wrigley Mansion. It was the home of the Wrigley family for many years. It was gifted to the City of Pasadena and is now the official home of the Tournament.  You may want to consider taking a tour of the tournament house and its gardens. What to Wear To The Parade

The climate on Parade day can vary from very cold in the early morning to very warm about mid-parade. So dress comfy, wear good walking shoes, and wear the layered look. Bring a seat cushion and maybe a blanket to put over your legs. If you are in the bleachers there isn’t a lot of leg room so travel light. To learn more about the Pasadena climate visit

Getting Around

There is the Metro Gold line that can take you from place to place during your stay. To learn more visit
